The SurfPrep 5" Electric Ray Hook and Loop Sanding System Kit is the best way to start using SurfPrep products! Your kit will come with a sander, foam variety pack, film variety pack, paper variety pack and pad saver. The abrasive variety packs will allow you to test SurfPrep's most popular abrasives and grits to determine what works best for your application. The sander is available as a non-vacuum sander or as a vacuum-compatible sander. The sander is available in a 3/16" orbit or a 3/32" orbit. All vacuum hose and accessories are sold separately.

SurfPrep 5" Electric Ray Hook & Loop Sander

SurfPrep's 5" Electric Ray Hook & Loop Sander is a low-profile, operator-friendly, power-packed, energy-efficient random orbital sander. The sander has 4 speed options (4,000, 7,000, 9,000 and 10,000 RPM) providing you with the perfect amount of power for your application. The sander has an ergonomic design and is lightweight weighing only 2.5 pounds. The 350 watt brush-less outer-runner motor is constructed with bigger magnets providing greater torque which saves energy compared to inner-runner motors. On-site sanding is simple with the Electric Ray sander thanks to its direct-wire design. With a direct-wire design you can plug the sander directly into a standard outlet - no external power supply box required. Annual electricity costs for operating the 5” sander 4 hour/day, 240 days/year at $0.0007 kWh is just over $20.00 per year. The sander is available in 3/16” & 3/32” orbits. The sander is available in a vacuum compatible version which connects to a vacuum system enabling clean sanding. The rate of cut & power of the Electric Ray puts the sander in a class of its own!

• 3/16″ orbit is more aggressive and cuts faster. The larger orbit can leave a more noticeable scratch. 3/16 is better for sealer sanding with sponges.
• 3/32″ orbit is less aggressive so it is better for a final pass on raw wood to minimize scratch and swirls. It is better for sealer sanding with film or paper.
